On Saturday 18 July 2020 Officer Warren and Officer Andrew made an arrest of two suspects.
While Officer Andrew was on patrol around the Hangklip Plots, he made a pit stop at the Hangklip slip, a male approached him and informed him that at the premises where he was staying for the weekend was just broken into by two males. Officer Andrew immediately acted by calling for assistance from Officer Warren. With the arrival of Officer Warren, the two officers started a manhunt for the two male suspects. Not long after starting the search, they found the two male suspects hiding in the bushes nearby the Hangklip slip and placed the two males under arrest.
With further investigation, the officers found out that the occupants of the house were out for a coffee at their neighbours’ on Saturday and while they were away, the suspects took the opportunity to break a bedroom window to gain access to the house. Items stolen from the property included an Apple iPad and alcohol.
The male suspects were busy inside the house as the occupants came back from their outing. Once alerted that the house occupants have arrived back home, the male suspects made a run for it. The house occupant gave chase, however lost sight of them, but luckily spotted the local ASK Security Vehicle.
After the two male suspects were arrested and handed over to the Kleinmond Police, another suspect was caught and handed over to the Police at the Police Station. It was found that the third suspect was also involved in the burglary; The Apple iPad and alcohol that was stolen, was recovered from the third suspect.

17/07/2020 Nivenea Road – alarm activation at 01h52 Response officer found a window broken and alcohol was stolen at the property
13/07/2020 Bass Road – a window was forced open and various items was stolen at the property.
31/07/2020 Nerine Crescent – tenants contacted our office in Betty’s Bay about a positive burglary while they were in the house, Response officer responded and found that the access was gained through an open window and an iPad was stolen.
18/07/2020 Boundary Road – tenants informed our Response officer on duty at the time about a house robbery, excess was gained through a unlock door and managed to steel an iPhone, a car pump and house keys.
18/07/2020 Hangklip Road (Plots) – tenants informed our response officer on duty about a positive burglary at a property, with the arrival at the property the officer found that a window was broken, and alcohol was stolen and an iPad. Above article is related to this incident.
