Burglaries & incidents for the month of July 2019
Kleinmond– total incidents/burglaries
In Kleinmond, only one (1) incident occurred, where a business in Harbour Road were the victims of a burglary. Our reaction officer, responding to an alarm activation at the premises, found a door forced open but nothing was stolen.
In the latest incidents in Kleinmond, the trend of thieves gaining entry to premises through roofs became apparent.
Overall, home burglaries in the area are still a big concern – Betty’s Bay had a total of six burglaries and one attempted burglary. On the morning of the 15 July, a home burglary occurred in White Road, where the suspects managed to force open a garage door and steal various items, including bicycles and tools. Our response team on duty responded immediately and managed to apprehend one suspect with the stolen bicycles. The other suspects, unfortunately, managed to get away.
Pringle Bay only suffered two home burglaries. Both of these incidents occurred in False Bay Road. Thieves broke a window at one property, managing to steal a TV. At the second property, the thieves forced open a window, but nothing appeared to be stolen at the time. A robbery was also reported on High Level Road, where thieves forced a window open while the occupants were still inside the house, stealing items which include a handbag, wallet and cell phones.
Only one incident occurred in the area Our Response staff member on duty responded to an alarm activation in Rocklands Road and found a window removed at the property. Fortunately, nothing was stolen at the house.
