On Monday early morning on 26/05/2019 at about 03:30 am, Sandown Bay Security in Betty’s Bay contacted the ASK Security reaction officer for assistance due to a positive burglary at the Centre Shop in Betty’s Bay.
There was an immediate response from Henk Geldenhuys from ASK to assist our friends at Sandown Bay Security in locating the suspect who damaged two windows at the business premises and attempted to burgle the shop but was unsuccessful. Henk then patrolled the area and in Disa Circle near the church, the suspect was apprehended based on a description that was originally provided by the newspaper delivery vehicle that was in the area at that time. The police were subsequently called to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody, who then appeared in court on Wednesday 28/05/2019 and after being found guilty of an offence, received a sentence of 30 months in jail.
Big congratulations to our very own Henk Geldenhuys, who might we add, performed the arrest single-handedly. GOOD JOB!
