During April 2019, our crime stats showed that in areas like Pringle Bay, the number of incidents had decreased in comparison with previous months, with only two house burglaries that occurred and one of these was while the house was occupied. Criminals still seem to target houses predominantly over the weekends while the houses are occupied either by homeowners or tenants.

Betty’s Bay crimes and incidents for April 2019
During April 2019, Betty’s Bay had a total of five house burglaries that were responded to. The streets that were targeted during the month were Dolphin Drive, where a double door was kicked in and a TV, two laptops and some jewellery were stolen during the day at 13h05. Crassula Crescent was also hit whereby a cleaner contacted our response in Betty’s Bay reporting that there was a window found open but no signs of forced entry and a Bluetooth speaker, hair dryer and two alarm remotes were stolen. Bass Road had an incident whereby an ASK response officer responded to an alarm activation and found that a window and a door were forced open and it was uncertain what was stolen. Lovers Walk had a sliding door of a house found forced open and a window also had some force marks. In this case, a TV was stolen. In Nivenea Road, a window was found forced open of a house by one of the response staff when responding to an alarm and it was uncertain what was stolen. All the above burglaries mentioned occurred at night except the incident in Dolphin Drive that occurred during the day.
Kleinmond burglaries for April 2019
In Kleinmond, there was only one incident where the response officer responded to an alarm activation in Beach Road and found that a security gate and the front door had been forced open and the keypad of the alarm had been ripped off the wall and it was uncertain what was stolen at the property.
Rooi-Els burglaries for the April 2019
No incidents were reported during the month of April in the Rooi-Els area.
